Julia Bright Crigler is an experienced political operative who has served in senior roles in numerous legislative and statewide races where she's built a network across the Commonwealth.

In 2012, Julia served as the political director for the Kentucky House Republican Campaign Caucus Committee. In this role, Julia managed more than 25 key legislative races in the Commonwealth. It was during this election cycle that House Republicans made significant gains and grew their membership to the highest in Kentucky history, prior to taking the majority. She also served in 2012 as an alternate delegate for Kentucky at the GOP National Convention in Tampa.

Julia began her work as a contract lobbyist in the 2013 and 2014 sessions of the Kentucky General Assembly focused on key healthcare, telecommunications, and financial services issues. She spent the next three years in the Koch Network as the Kentucky state director for Americans for Prosperity (AFP). Here she took an active role in legislative efforts related to labor reform, school choice, and occupational licensing reform.

Julia’s work at the local, legislative, and executive level on labor reform has made her a credible voice on the issue. She has been published in the Wall Street Journal and Forbes on the impact on Kentuckians of Right-to-Work and the repeal of the prevailing wage.

In 2017, her legislative efforts leading AFP Kentucky on school choice were recognized by the Policy Innovators in Education Network as the part of the “Best Ensemble” award for the Kentucky charter school bill.

Julia started her own firm, Bright Strategies, in October of 2017 and immediately engaged in a strategic partnership with Commonwealth Alliances to best serve its clients.

Currently, Julia serves on the Board for the Cabbage Patch Settlement House, a Louisville nonprofit that seeks to equip and empower at-risk children, youth and their families to be self-sufficient by helping them maximize their economic, educational, emotional, moral, physical, social and spiritual potential. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and psychology. She and her husband, Chase, live in Prospect, KY with their daughter, Piper.
