Karen Thomas Lentz has almost 30 years of experience in Kentucky State Government. She is a graduate of Sullivan University. Karen has held positions both in the legislative and executive branch. She has nearly 20 years of experience as a government relations consultant representing Fortune 500 companies like Johnson and Johnson and Fresenius Medical Care; Kentucky Associations like the Kentucky Occupational Therapy Association; and non-profit organizations such as the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana.
From 1985-1993, Karen worked in the office of the Democratic Kentucky Speaker of the House. In 1993, Karen joined Democratic Governor Brereton Jones’ Administration serving as Chief of Staff to Kentucky’s Public Health Commissioner, as well as legislative liaison for the Cabinet for Health Services. She also served as Legislative Liaison to Governor Brereton Jones.
In 1996, Karen began her lobbying career working beside her father, former Democratic State Representative Sam Thomas. In 2007, Karen joined Commonwealth Alliances. Karen and her husband, Jerry, have one son, Cory.
